Stovner Rockefabrikk – Music House and Youth Arena in Oslo
Stovner Rockefabrikk was established as a citywide music house and youth initiative in Oslo, with rehearsal rooms, a recording studio, and a concert/pre-production venue.
The project combined culture, training and professional music production, and became an important meeting place for young musicians, local bands and established artists.
Artists from international level like A-ha were regulars, and most major Norwegian acts has been doing preproduction at some point in their carreers.
I developed the concept, served as construction and project manager, and acted as general manager during the period 1992–1995.
The work included establishing the facilities, developing the operational model, course and training activities, as well as budget and personnel responsibility.
The project was carried out under the auspices of the City of Oslo / Stovner District, and laid the foundation for a lasting music environment with rehearsal rooms, studio and stage as its core functions. Still going strong!
